The reason for the existence of pilotage services is the protection of life, property, navigation and environmental safety. In recent years, the great environmental pollution caused by ship accidents has increased the importance of pilotage services with its great contribution to the prevention of ship accidents and protection of the environment. Therefore, all over the world, pilotage services are regarded as semi-public services, even when they are not fully publicly provided.
Since the day it was founded, our company, being aware of the fact that the services it provides are of semi-public nature, has aimed to fulfil its services in the most modern way, at least at the level of the advanced countries of the world, and to make Turkey proud in this field.
The basis of pilotage services is ‘safety’. However, one of the requirements of our age is ‘speed’. Accordingly, for a modern service, pilotage services should be provided ‘in safety’ and ‘fast’. To put it in another way, ‘pilotage services’ should be provided fast without compromising safety.
It is possible to provide pilotage services ‘fast in safety’ by following a conscious Quality Policy. In order to ensure this, our company works in accordance with ISO 9001 Quality Standards and has a certificate in this regard.
The following points constitute the cornerstones of our company’s Quality Policy:
- In the services we provide, it will always be taken into consideration that public interests will be protected first and foremost.
- In order to protect the public interests in the services we provide, our Company will provide a ‘party’ service in favour of public interests, but a ‘neutral’ service to shipowners, agents, port management, cargo carriers, insurers and other similar service recipients.
- It is recognised that our Company must maintain its independence in order to remain impartial to all parties with conflicting interests in the services we provide and to maintain an equal distance to all parties concerned. Since this depends on economic independence, economic independence will always be preserved.
- In addition to the fact that the visible customers receiving the services are shipowners, agencies, port operators and cargo carriers, efforts will be made to meet the satisfaction and needs of all customers, taking into account the fact that the “real customer” is the “State” in order to protect public interests.
- All resources will be utilised in the most efficient manner, necessary investments will be made, continuous observations will be made in line with the needs of the customers, and efforts will be made to improve the quality of the services provided, to bring them up to the level of the advanced countries of the world, and even to go further.
- Training needs of employees will be observed and their development will be ensured.
- The issue of employee satisfaction will be continuously monitored and rational measures will be taken to ensure this.
