In maritime transportation, a ship is always expected to complete its voyage safely and without delay. With the increase in maritime traffic in recent years, it has become even more important to ensure the safety of ships during their passage through the waters and entry and exit from ports. This is because an accident caused by ships whose tonnage is increasing and the types of hazardous materials in the cargo they carry are increasing can turn into an environmental catastrophe. Studies conducted around the world show that the share of human error in marine accidents varies between 75% and 96%, with an average of around 85%. In the light of these facts, it is seen that Pilots and Pilotage Services are the most important elements of safety in the waters and ports. Because Pilots who have the qualification certificate of Long Distance Master are specially trained for a certain place and they reduce human errors to almost zero with the high experience they have gained due to their daily work.
